Who we are
Big Energy Charging Stations is a clean energy company that brings electric vehicle charging to communities that do not have enough access. Many neighborhoods are EV charging deserts, which means people cannot easily find places to charge their cars. We work to change that by building reliable and high-quality charging stations for everyone.

Abierre Minor
Founder & CEO, Big Energy Charging Stations
Abierre Minor is the founder and CEO of Big Energy Charging Stations. She started the company after growing tired of driving outside her own Chicago neighborhood just to charge her car. Today she builds reliable EV charging access for the communities that have been left out of it the longest.
Why I started Big Energy
I started Big Energy because I was tired of having to drive outside of my community just to access an essential service. I was tired of sitting in traffic and losing up to 30 miles of charge just trying to find a place to power my car.
I was also tired of seeing my community overlooked when it comes to new technology and innovation. Too often, we are underserved even though we are ready and willing to adopt clean energy solutions.
I noticed that many EV owners are from my community, and we all share the same frustration. We wait in long lines for chargers when we should be able to charge our vehicles closer to home. Our communities deserve to be better supported, more comfortable, and fully included in the future of clean transportation.
That is why I built Big Energy.

Abierre Minor
Built Big Energy to bring reliable EV charging to the neighborhoods she grew up driving out of to find one.
Dajuan D. Matthews
Raised on Chicago's South Side, Dajuan builds the technology behind Big Energy, with doctoral research focused on accessible AI infrastructure for underserved communities.
Nyasaina Kwamboka
Nyasaina is Big Energy's energy economist, building the financial models and market analysis that guide where the charging network expands next.
